So, for those that do not know, I have 2 1/2 year old triplets. McKenna, Madelyn and William. McKenna is the oldest by seconds with Madelyn following close behind. They were born in the same minute. William was only a few more seconds behind the girls coming within the next minute. Now I am not sure how the birth order mysteries work when multiples are pulled out by a doctor during a very fast emergency c-section and not pushed out by mom. But I can see some of the personality traits of birth order in them. McKenna is a little bossy but usually very easy going and always happy. Madelyn is the thinker. She sits back and watches things happen before she will get involved. And William is definitely the baby. My sensitive child. And the girls boss him around alot! He gets his feeling hurt very easily and can throw a major tantrum if provoked.
Wednesday was most definitely a terrible twos day. I was of course trying to do some housework and a couple of loads of laundry as well as trying to sew and keep the babies entertained when they were fussy. So, as I am upstairs doing the laundry, the babes decide that the back cushions on the new couch are way overstuffed! Apparently they have taken two of the cushions down, unzipped them, and have begun to take out the stuffing...one little handful at a time!!!!! Now I am blissfully unaware this is happening and they seem to be behaving since I don't hear any "stop" and "mine" or frustrated screaming. Yes....I should have known better.
I come downstairs, go into the kitchen to start lunch and I still haven't looked over the bar to see the mess they have made. I have asked my oldest child to go out to the freezer to get the chicken stix and as he passes the den, he stops and yells for me as he sees the mess. I figure the girls are naked or climbing on top of the side tables or something along those lines. NOOOO. The girls are laying in the middle of the floor, on their backs, surrounded on all sides by pillow stuffing, looking for all intents and purposes like they are trying to make snow angels!!
I loudly gasp which sends the children scattering in all directions. McKenna jumps onto the couch, Maddy runs to the other side of the room and poor Will runs toward me saying "UH-OH". INDEED UH-OH!!!! I spanked three little hineys in quick succession and made them sit still until the mess was cleaned up and the pillows re-stuffed. I have never seen such a mess in so short a time. But I guess when the odds are three-to-one, everything is going to be bigger.
Can you imagine potty training? Or the teen years? I am not sure there is enough Prozac for either one.

machines and computers...and Friday, 13th
So today I wanted to work on the embroidery machine. There are some designs that I have been wanting to try. Now all of my designs are saved on the computer downstairs in a nice little file so I can copy them onto the USB stick and then go to the machine and sew. Sounds simple right? Not if the computer is having a brain fart! It must have taken me the better part of an hour to get the stupid computer to recognize the USB stick and then to get it to copy TWO designs onto the stick! I have done this many times and have never had this much trouble.
I should have seen this as an omen and stopped right there but NOOOOO, I have to continue. So I sit down to the machine , load my design, and put in the t-shirt on which the design will go, thread the machine and...yeah...shoulda just stopped when I had the chance. I had put the t-shirt in the hoop the wrong way! So now I have to buy another shirt. So I go to the next shirt. As I go to take the hoop off of the machine so that I can trim the applique fabric, I hit the screen and move the arm. I try to move it back. No such luck. It was off by 1/8th of an inch. Now I have to buy shirt number two. You would think I would stop there but NOOOOOO, I am nothing if not stubborn. In goes shirt number three, and yeah, for some reason the last stitches in the design are not lining up in the satin stitch! Shirt number three in the shopping cart! By this time I have a major headache and as I go into the kitchen to get some Advil, I look at the calendar and realize that today is Friday, 13th.
Now, I am not normally a supersttious person, but ever since I can remember this is the way things have worked---Usually, the 13th would mean a good day for me. I can't remember the last time I had a "bad" day on the 13th. I usually suffer on the 14th, go figure. Must be some crazy Irish gene that gets things mixed up, who knows? But not today. Today, nothing went right. Today was not the day for machines and computers. I guess some people might say it was all due to operator error ---but the really smart people who know me will just agree that today was the curse of Friday 13th.
That's my story and I am sticking to it!!!! Now I just need to honor my Irish heritage and go get a real drink!!!! :)

Too Much...
So, today is already going to the dogs. I stubbed my toe, I burnt my hand and I poked myself in the eye! And all that before 9 am!! Whoever has the voodoo doll better watch out! I will find out and I will find you! :)
My hormones have not yet settled into their new routine so I am a little cranky and a lot hot! I am afraid I will freeze out my family before the summer is over. So, if you come to visit bring a sweater, because if you touch the thermostat I will not be responsible for my actions!
The trips have already gone into terrible twos mode...I think I have heard "mine" several times already and as usual Will is screaming down the girls for even looking at him! Maddy has told McKenna "no" four times and McKenna has belted her sister for that! And the teenager...he has graced us with his presence, eaten breakfast, and is now laid out on the couch with a comforter. Occasionally he mumbles a question and tells the babies to stop whatever they were doing to disturb his beauty rest.
I can't wait for July and the Stitch-In! My husband is leaving town with all the children and I will be here ALONE, sewing for a whole week uniterupted!! No diapers, no meals to cook, no laundry...just me and my fabric and my machines...and my new ADULT friends!!! Oh, and of course the chocolate!!!!
